Our Beginning
Tanglewood has always been about family. It all started over 25 years ago when Mark Paone and his family set out to build a special, rustic retreat on this mountain. (Mark is pictured to the right with his sister, Cathy and niece, Nicole.)
The mission was simple: create a welcoming, beautiful, and peaceful spot where other families could unplug from the world and reconnect with each other.
Where Generations Come Together
The real magic of Tanglewood is watching our camp families grow. Family is the heart of everything we do here, and our greatest joy is seeing that legacy continue.
We’ve had the incredible privilege of watching kids who spent their summers fishing in our 5-acre lake grow up and bring their kids back for their very first campfire. This is a place where grandparents, parents, and grandchildren can all share the same slice of mountain peace.
Campers Are Our Second Family
To us, "family-owned" is a promise. It’s why you'll still find Mark cooking up his famous Sunday morning breakfast at The Lodge. It's why we take pride in this place like it's our own home—because it is.
Over the years, our wonderful community of campers has become a second family to us. We’ve watched friendships form and memories being made that last a lifetime.
Our promise is to keep Tanglewood the special place it's always been: a clean, quiet, and authentic retreat where you can find your calm.
